Migration

The snow and cold in the northern half of the state gave us a major migration on Sunday.  Bryce was hunting on the north part of town and I was on the west and we watched as thousands of geese came in all day long.  It was a great scene watching V after V migrate into Rochester.  The only draw back on the day was the number of birds killed.  Both fields harvested birds but it wasn't lights out like we thought it should have been.  The migrators would ball up on us and work us but would lose interest and then fly into town and sit on water.  The good news is we have a ton of new geese and with warm temps this week it should be great hunting for the Thanksgiving weekend.

We still have some opening for this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  The regular season ends on Sunday but will reopen on Thursday Dec 8th.  The opener is traditionally a good day to hunt and after a 10 day rest the geese should be care free to come into the decoy spreads.  There is still a few openings left for the opener on the 8th so give us a call if you'd like to come out hunting.
